Collingwood Children’s Farm

Hi, I am Tom and this is my friend Taylan, and we both have made this website homepage for you to look at if you are interested in eTrain.

eTrain is a eLearning experience (technology experience) that is held at the Collingwood Children’s Farm once per year. Two days a year students from year five from selected farms come down to the Abbotsford Convent to use technology programs.

At eTrain we use laptops to do programs such as iWeb, which is what Taylan and I are doing now. There is also Gamemaker, Comic Life, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Robotics and much more.

There are about 150 students and 15 teachers that attend eTrain each year and there are about 10 people in every group.

When schools come we usually don’t usually have only one school at a time at the farm, we would usually have around 3-4 schools per year to visit. They would all come at the same time to learn.

There are more activities than technology. On the first day we went on a tour of the farm which you can feed the animals and milk the cow as you see in the pictures above.

The Abbotsford Convent is a heritage building which was once used by nuns in the 19th century and early 20th century. It is used for eTrain once a year.

There are eight people in our group. Taylan, Lachy, George, Bianca, Sam, Dakota, Salah and I. You will see them throughout the website.

We have all participated in this website so everyone has done there own little piece.

Welcome
